7 Days Serengeti Migration Safari – Mara River Crossing
Day 1:
Arrive in Tanzania

Your adventure begins when you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax by the pool, enjoy a fresh meal, or explore the town a little.
In the evening, you will meet your safari guide for a full briefing about the safari, including travel routes, wildlife you may see, and safety tips. Enjoy a calm dinner at the lodge and rest well, because the adventure begins tomorrow.

Day 2:
Arusha → Tarangire National Park

After a hearty breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, which is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. On the way, your guide will point out interesting sights and share stories about Tanzania’s wildlife and culture.
You will spend the day on a game drive, spotting elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and a variety of birds. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park, surrounded by the beautiful African landscape. In the late afternoon, you will drive to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight. Enjoy the sounds of the African wilderness at night.

Day 3:
Tarangire → Central Serengeti

After breakfast, the safari continues to the Serengeti National Park, the heart of Africa’s wildlife. Along the way, you will pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with rolling hills and Maasai villages. The scenery is breathtaking, with vast savannahs stretching to the horizon.
Arriving in the Central Serengeti, you will enjoy a late afternoon game drive, spotting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles. Tonight, you will stay at a comfortable lodge or mobile tented camp, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 4:
Central Serengeti → Northern Serengeti (Mara River Area)

Today, you journey to the Northern Serengeti, the place where the Great Migration reaches the Mara River. You will pass through wide open plains, dotted with acacia trees, while your guide explains the migration patterns and wildlife behavior.
On arrival, you will embark on afternoon game drives, searching for wildlife including lions, cheetahs, elephants, and herds of wildebeest and zebra moving north. Your evening will be spent at a lodge or camp near the Mara River, preparing for the next day’s exciting river crossing.

Day 5:
Full Day – Mara River Crossing

This is the highlight of your safari: the Mara River Crossing. You will wake up early and head to the river with your guide. With patience, you will watch thousands of wildebeest and zebras as they cross the crocodile-infested Mara River – a breathtaking and dramatic spectacle of nature.
Throughout the day, you will enjoy multiple game drives, spotting crocodiles, hippos, lions, and other predators that follow the migration. Your guide will take you to the best viewing spots for photography. A picnic lunch will be served in the park, surrounded by wild animals. This day is filled with excitement and amazing wildlife encounters.
In the evening, return to your camp for dinner and relaxation under the African night sky.

Day 6:
Northern Serengeti → Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will start your drive back south, with game drives along the way. You will have opportunities to see wildlife you may have missed in the northern plains.
You will then enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, famous for the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Check into a lodge or camp on the crater rim. From here, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the crater and its wildlife. Dinner and overnight are at the lodge, preparing for an early start the next day.

Day 7:
Ngorongoro Crater Tour → Return to Arusha

Wake up early for a descent into Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the morning exploring this wildlife-rich area, often called the “Garden of Eden.” Here, you can see black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, and many other species in a single day.
After a picnic lunch in the crater, you will ascend and start your return drive to Arusha. Depending on your schedule, you can either be dropped at your hotel or at Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure. Your 7-day safari adventure ends with memories of one of Africa’s greatest wildlife spectacles.
